(e) Damian Jurt, who lives in Geneva and Basel, studied at the Geneva University of Art and Design and at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Damian Jurt also completed the postgraduate program MAS Curating at the Zurich University of Art. Since 2008 he is a research assistent at the Art Institute of the Basel Academy of Art and Design. Damian Jurt exhibits regularly both nationally and internationally. As artistic director of the City Gallery (Loge) in Bern, Jurt focused on contextual exhibition formats that show how social and political tension can be interpreted within the arts. Damian Jurt represents an generation that considers the role of the curator to be broad and varied. This concept flows into exhibitions, texts, lectures and actions, partly through cooperative projects with alternative art spaces, partly in the Internet, or also in the public sphere. At the core of his intentions are social issues, a concept that has been the basis for a variety of projects.
