(e) The starting point for the project From Blindness into Abstraction is an unlabeled, a blank neon box, such as one normally finds as signs on stores, that is, something pragmatically indicating a commercial space. |1| Based on this idea, the question arises as to what a space would look like when marked with such a faceless neon box. The idea was to develop a neon cube that designates an architectural space that is simultaneously in a process of dissolution and reconstruction. Thus the project refers, on the one hand, to the actual building of the off-space Attachment and, on the other hand, appeals to an imaginary architecture. The project consists of a light cube mounted onto the exterior wall of Artachment as well as an installation inside the space. An interaction occurs between the inside installation and the cube outside as these complement each other both in form and in content. The neon tubes have been mounted diagonally in the transparent light cube, thereby emphasizing its geometric dimension. A reflecting surface inside the cube enlarges its actual size and multiplies the neon tubes into an imaginary space. The interior of Artachment represents a spatial fragment consisting of layered wall and floor elements. A connected row of horizontal and one of vertical neon tubes have been attached, which describe the geometrical dimension of the wall and the floor. At the same time, the deconstruction of the interior space suggests its apparent dissolution. The discrepancy between the pragmatic signaling effect of the light cube and its reference to an abstract idea of a space has consciously been built in. 

(g) Die Ausgangslage für das Projekt From Blindness into Abstraction ist die Betrachtung eines unbeschrifteten, neutralen Leuchtkubus. Es handelt sich dabei um einen Leuchtkasten, der normalerweise kommerzielle Ladenlokale bezeichnet, also pragmatisch auf kommerzielle Räume hinweist. |1| Ausgehend von dieser Betrachtung stellte sich die Frage, wie ein Raum aussehen würde, auf den dieser gesichtslose Leuchtkasten verweist. Die Idee bestand nun darin, einen Leuchtkubus zu entwickeln, der auf einen architektonischen Raum verweist, der sich gleichzeitig in Auflösung und Rekonstruktion befindet. Das Projekt nimmt damit einerseits Bezug zum realen Gebäude des Off-Spaces Artachment, andererseits appelliert es an eine Architektur des Imaginären. Das Projekt besteht aus einem Leuchtkubus, der an der Aussenwand von Artachment befestigt ist, sowie einer Installation im Innenraum. Zwischen der Installation im Innenraum und dem Kubus im Aussenraum besteht eine Wechselwirkung, da sie sich formal wie inhaltlich ergänzen. Im transparenten Leuchtkubus sind die Neonröhren diagonal angelegt und betonen damit dessen geometrische Dimension. Eine Spiegelfläche im Innern erweitert die reale Grösse des Kubus und vervielfacht die Neonröhren in einen imaginären Raum hinein. Das Innere von Artachment stellt ein Raumfragment dar, das aus überschichteten Wand- und Bodenelementen besteht. Darauf ist eine miteinander verbundene horizontale und vertikale Reihe von Leuchtstoffröhren befestigt, die die geometrische Grösse von Boden und Wand beschreiben. Gleichzeitig suggeriert die Dekonstruktion des Innenraumes dessen scheinbare Auflösung. Die Diskrepanz zwischen der pragmatischen Signalwirkung des Leuchtkubus sowie dessen Verweis auf eine abstrakte Idee eines Raumes ist dabei bewusst angelegt.
