(e) In the exhibition space there is a bicycle by the Swiss brand Cilo as well as new spare parts, which should be used as replacements during the exhibition. The visitors are given the possibility to ride to the bike store Crabcycles with this bike, taking with them one spare part which has been produced in Asia. At the destination there is a bike mechanic who will replace one of the bike parts with a new one. The viewer rides back to the gallery and returns the bike and the exchanged part to their designated places. During the exhibition the Swiss-made bike is transformed piece by piece into an Asian product. The work The Chinese Start from Scratch Too is not only a response to the current situation in which practically all the production sites of Swiss bike brands are located abroad, but also reflects a globalized world and the constant shifting of the balance of power of economic forces. The change process took place thanks to the participation of Nadine Wietlisbach, Andreas Hertach, Yvonne Aschwanden and Natalia Huser.

(g) Im Ausstellungsraum befinden sich ein Fahrrad der Schweizer Marke Cilo sowie neue Ersatzteile, die während der Dauer der Ausstellung ausgewechselt werden sollen. Die BesucherInnen haben die Möglichkeit, mit dem Fahrrad und einem Ersatzteil aus asiatischer Produktion zum Velogeschäft Crabcycles zu fahren. Am Zielort lässt sich der Fahrradmechaniker finden, der ein bestehendes Element des Fahrrads durch ein neues austauscht. Der Betrachter fährt zur Kunsthalle zurück und stellt das Fahrrad und das alte, ausgewechselte Teil wieder an seinen Platz. Während der Dauer der Ausstellung transformiert sich das ursprüngliche Fahrrad aus Schweizer Produktion so in ein Fahrrad Asiatischer Produktion. Die Arbeit The Chinese Start from Scratch Too ist nicht nur ein Kommentar zur gegenwärtigen Situation, in der sich praktisch alle Produktionsstätten der Schweizer Fahrradmarken im Ausland befinden, sondern auch ein Spiegel der globalisierten Welt und der laufenden Verschiebung des Kräfteverhältnisses der Wirtschaftsmächte. Der Prozess fand anhand der Teilnahme von Nadine Wietlisbach, Andreas Hertach, Yvonne Aschwanden, Natalia Huser statt.
